The Prince Albert Grand Council is seeking a Visiting Dentist to provide clinical dental services in Hatchet Lake First Nation, a remote northern Saskatchewan community.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and culturally respectful practitioner who is committed to improving oral health outcomes in Indigenous communities.


Position Overview

The Visiting Dentist will provide comprehensive dental services during scheduled community visits. Services may include:

  • Examinations and oral health assessments
  • Preventative care (cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants)
  • Restorative procedures (fillings, extractions, minor surgical procedures)
  • Emergency dental care
  • Patient education and oral health promotion
  • Collaboration with community health staff

Visits are typically scheduled 10 days/month in the community or a mutually agreed-upon basis.

 

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)
  • Licensed and in good standing with the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan
  • Valid professional liability insurance
  • Experience working in rural or remote settings is an asset
  • Experience working with First Nations communities is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed approach
  • Current CPR certification
